In late 19 century and early 20 century, there are a lot of silver wear made in China and trade to Europe and America.
Those objects contains lots of Chinese lucky elements and also silver smith skills.
Jade hairpins are ready-made ornaments, so the craft man took the jade hairpin inlaied on the objects, such as spoons and brush wash container.
Here are some examples about hairpins in other objects as decorations.

在十九世紀末二十世紀初期，中國南部如廣東地區有許多作坊製造銀器等商品外銷，這些物品充滿了濃濃的中西合併風格。銀器上有中國風的圖案，如竹葉或是亭臺樓閣等，配上西洋風的物件，如歐洲的茶匙或是餐巾環等。
玉髮簪是雕刻好的裝飾品，因此有些工匠便會直接將雕刻好的玉髮簪，直接鑲嵌和安裝在物品上，如湯匙或是叉子的柄等，變成現成且中國風的裝飾。
下面幾個物件就是物件上鑲嵌有玉髮簪的證明，玉髮簪為中國的產物，但是其鑲嵌物的湯匙叉子等，卻是完全的西洋風格與花紋，形成有趣的中西合璧和混和對比​。
